SPR# AEDR69VPTE - After using notesjre to upgrade the JVM within Domino, the first attempt (after an upgrade) of having the server's ID issue the command" java -version", the following error was displayed "Unable to switch to IFA processor - issue "extattr +a libhpi.so". This problem has been fixed in 6.0.6 and 6.5.5.

This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR #LBRD667KKV, and was
fixed in Domino 6.5.5.

SPR# AEDR69VPTE - After using notesjre to upgrade the JVM within Domino, the
first attempt (after an upgrade) of having the server's ID issue the command"
java -version", the following error was displayed "Unable to switch to IFA
processor - issue "extattr +a libhpi.so".
As a workaround, you can add the notesjre option -s to symbolically link JRE
into NOTESDIR (the default is to copy files). You would need to rerun notesjre
and, in addition to options previously mentioned, add the symbolic link option
(-s ). This option ensures the sdk/jdk modules are linked (not copied). By
using this workaround you would need to keep the sdk/jdk in this location.
You would not be able to move Java to another directory. Once Domino is using
symbolic links, it needs to be able to find them at runtime.
